Horsham Girls Lacrosse Club Registration

SPRING SEASON 2021

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SPRING 2021 REGISTRATION

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic we will not be requiring tuition payment or U.S. Lacrosse Membership at the time of registration.  Pre-registration is needed in order for the club and league to prepare for the potential of a Spring 2021 season.  The season will only occur if it is safe to do so.  The league and Horsham Lacrosse Club will follow all state and local COVID-19 safety recommendations along with U.S. Lacrosse Return to Play guidelines before determining if it is safe to play.  The health and safety of our players, coaches and volunteers is our top priority.  If it is determined safe to conduct the season players will be required to pay tuition and register for U.S. Lacrosse Membership before attending practices or games. 

 

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING

Players must be a  RESIDENT of the Hatboro-Horsham School District, North Penn School District, or neighboring township that does not offer a recreational girls lacrosse program. 

*** HGLC can no longer take players from the Central Bucks School District or other areas where there is an established girls lacrosse community program.  We must comply with the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse Association rules.***

This will affect ONLY NEW families looking to register.  Please do not register as a new player if you reside in a school district outside of Hatboro-Horsham or North Penn.  HGLC will refund your registration fee less a $30 processing fee.

Winter Skills Clinics:  Unfortunately due to the restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic we are unable to hold winter skills clinics this season.  Information regading clinics and evaluations are to be determined at a future date.  

REFUND POLICY:  Due to the uncertainty regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic, HGLC will be very flexible in refunding tuition payments on a pro-rated basis based on completion of the season.   Contact via email:  Horshamgirlslax@gmail.com

2021 HGLC Little Laxers (GRADES 1/2) Registration

First and Second Grade Registration (Little Laxers)

This is an instructional program that introduces the game of lacrosse to our youngest players in a fun and safe environment. Players will learn how to cradle, catch, throw and do groundball pickups all through age appropriate drills and small area games.  In a few short weeks, they will learn offensive and defensive positioning, rules of the game and playing as a team.  The 1/2s play 8v8 on a small field in a round robin format agianst other teams in PAGLA.  The Season runs from late March to the end of May.  

Practices are held one to two nights a week in Carpenter Park (practice nights will be determined by the coaches and weather permitting). There will be 4 to 5 Saturday or Sunday game days, usually in the afternoons that consist of 3 or 4 - 20 minute games in a round robin format.

COVID-19:  The situation and restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic are constantly changing.  The health and safety of all our players, coaches and volunteers are our top priority.  We will follow all state and local health recommendations in addtion to US Lacrosse "Return to Play" guidelines when determining if it will be safe to participate in practices and games during the season. 

Volunteers:  The Horsham Girls Lacrosse Club is a 100% volunteer run organization.  We rely on great parents and coaches to run our club and coach our teams.  Please consider volunteering your time to help our club.  We're only able to have teams at all levels if there are enough volunteers to help run and coach the teams.  The 1st & 2nd grade Little Laxers is a great introductory level for any parent to begin volunteering to help the club.  Please reach out to horshamgirlslax@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering. 

Uniform: Reversible Game Pinnie included with registration.  Please have your player wear black bottoms (shorts, leggings or sweats) on game days.

Gear:  Your player will be required to have a Womens Lacrosse Stick, solid colored mouthguard (no white or clear), ASTM 3077 approved eyewear (goggles) and a water bottle for every practice and game.  Cleats are preferred but not required.

This is a great age to start lacrosse.

2021 HGLC 3/4 Spring Registration

Third and Fourth Grade Registration

This program will have two or three teams (depending on volunteer coaching staff and players) made up of a mixed group of third and fourth graders.  The season runs from mid March to the end of May.  

COVID-19:  The situation and restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic are constantly changing.  The health and safety of all our players, coaches and volunteers are our top priority.  We will follow all state and local health recommendations in addtion to US Lacrosse "Return to Play" guidelines when determining if it will be safe to participate in practices and games during the season. 

PRACTICES:  3/4 practices are held one to two nights a week in Carpenter Park beginning mid March (practice nights will be determined by the coaching team and weather permitting).  
  
GAMES:  Each team will play about 5 season games on Saturday afternoons and participate in one Playday.  Most of the 3/4s play at 1:00pm or 3:00pm and are made up of 3 to 4 - 20 minute games in a round robin format. We play other township clubs and will be traveling locally as well as playing on our home field, Carpenter Park.
 
UNIFORM:  A Reversible Game Pinnie is included with registration.  Please have your player wear black bottoms (shorts, leggings or sweats) on game days.
 
GEAR:  Your player will be required to have a Womens Lacrosse Stick, solid colored mouthguard (no white or clear), ASTM 3077 approved eyewear (goggles) and a water bottle for every practice and game.  Cleats are preferred but not required. 
 
Play Description:
 
HGLC follows the PAGLA East rules and directives, which adopts most US Lacrosse rules and regulations.
 
Games use an 8v8 format with goalkeepers or shooting nets. Passing is encouraged before shooting. There is no checking at this level, the players are taught good body positioning to be rewarded the ball. The girls will work on developing their cradle, passing, shooting, catching and groundball pickups, as well as learning the rules of the game.  Progressing into positioning on the field for both offense and defense.  We encourage everyone to try the goalie position.
 
This is a good opportunity for new players to start.

2021 HGLC 5/6 Spring Registration

Fifth and Sixth Grade Registration

This program will run two teams (if we have enough players and volunteers).  There will be an A and B team based on skill level.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions we are unable to have indoor training and tryout sessions this year.  Information regarding evaluations will be determined as we approach closer to the season.  The Season runs from March to the end of May.  

COVID-19:  The situation and restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic are constantly changing.  The health and safety of all our players, coaches and volunteers are our top priority.  We will follow all state and local health recommendations in addtion to US Lacrosse "Return to Play" guidelines when determining if it will be safe to participate in practices and games during the season.

PRACTICES AND GAMES:  The 5/6 practices are held one to two nights a week in Carpenter Park (practice nights will be determined by the coaches and weather permitting). 
Each team will play 6 to 8 regular season games and one Playday.  MOST games will be on Saturday mornings with a possible Friday night or Sunday afternoon game.
 
UNIFORMS:  Each player will be given a uniform for the season which consists of a reversible jersey and skirt. Uniforms will be collected at the end of the season. 

To ensure a prompt return of uniforms, a $100 deposit check will be collected when we hand out uniforms.  This is separate from registration.  Your coach will send out a notice when uniforms will be distributed.

Your check will be held until your players uniform is returned at the end of the season.  Please make every effort to RETURN the uniform promptly so our volunteers do not have to chase it down when the season is over. THANK YOU!

The players are on a full field and play 12v12 with goalies.  The 5/6 level follow the Modified Check Rule (checking below the shoulder only).  Good defensive body positioning is encouraged.

The 5/6s will focus on developing and improving fundamental skills and will learn offensive and defensive strategies, progressing to fine-tune the fundamentals and work together as a team on the field.

Please note that at this level player participation is strongly encouraged.
Coaches for both teams are committed to providing players with organized practices and count on a full roster for games. Player attendance is strongly recommended for the benefit of player and team improvement.

New players are encouraged to join.

2021 HGLC 7/8 SPRING Registration

Seventh and Eighth Grade Registration

This program has two teams according to skill level of the players (A and B).  Due to Covid-19 restrictions we are unable to have indoor training and tryout sessions this year.  Information regarding evaluations will be determined as we approach closer to the season.  The Season runs from March to the end of May.  

COVID-19:  The situation and restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic are constantly changing.  The health and safety of all our players, coaches and volunteers are our top priority.  We will follow all state and local health recommendations in addtion to US Lacrosse "Return to Play" guidelines when determining if it will be safe to participate in practices and games during the season.

Each team will play 6 to 8 regular season games and one Playday.  MOST games will be on Saturday mornings with a possible Friday night or Sunday afternoon game.
